Thomas appears in the family home at 5 Union Street at the time of the 1861 census. He is listed as being 15 years old (indicating a birth date sometime between April and the beginning of August in 1845). In this census he is shown as a dentist's apprentrice. This is the profession that he follows in later life.
Marriage
In the Free BMD database there is a registration of the marriage of a Thomas Good in the first quarter of 1870. At this point we do not have the registration document and so do not know the name of the wife. This marriage does not appear in the IGI

Death and Obituary
Our greatest source of information on Thomas and his wife come from his obituary, printed in the Hampshire Telegraph, 22 june 1901:
The obituary is interesting in revealing a number of items about Thomas' life. These include:
Thomas was a councilman in Portsmouth, first in St. Luke's Ward (1871-1881) and later in St. Mary's Ward.
Member Portsmouth Board of Guardians from 1888 - 1889. This was an elective governing body of 21 persons who oversaw the management of the Portsea Island Poor Law and Union Workhouse
He was quiet and unassuming in manner.
He was a sound Liberal in politics, belonging to an old Liberal family.
Elizabeth, his wife, was for some time president of the Women's Liberal Association
Thomas was a Freemason and member of the Masonic Club.
From this obituary we also learn that Elizabeth died about January of 1897, as a result of a carriage accident in Southsea.
