They Served During the Cold War
The 'Cold War' was an era in which the Western Allies
(essentially the NATO and SEATO forces) maintained an
hightened military capacity to counter the percieved threat
of Soviet dominsation of the world. For a period of
about forty years from 1950 until 1990 (when the Berlin Wall
collapsed) military forces were on continual standby to
deter such aggression. Active military theaters include
Indonesia, Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia. However the military of
the Western World was 'on alert' world wide.
